Questions

Before you start

Is this tax advice?

No. Revenue decides any claim you make in myAccount.

What does the check look at?

Rent, working from home, health bills, college fees and flat-rate job expenses, for 2022 to 2025. A few other credits are listed as worth checking, with no euro figure. It does not cover every credit.

Will you file a return or ask me to log in?

No. The eligibility check on this page is free. We never file for you, and we never ask for a Revenue login or a PPS number. You make any claim yourself in myAccount on revenue.ie.

Why does 31 December 2026 matter?

Revenue’s four-year rule says claims for 2022 must be made by 31 December 2026. Claims made after that cannot be repaid.

What do the two buttons on the result do?

The check is free. The €19 Claim Pack and the expert option are separate, and they are not open yet. If you leave an email, we store that address and which button you pressed. Your pay and the amounts you typed stay in this browser.

Privacy

TaxBackChecker runs this check in your browser. The pay, rent, bills and other amounts you type stay on your device. They are not sent to us, to Google Analytics, or to the waitlist form. We do not ask for a PPS number, a Revenue login, your employer, or your address.

If you ask for early access, we store only your email and which button you pressed. The form is processed by Formspree.

Cookies

The banner offers Accept all, Reject all, and Manage preferences. Cookie settings in the footer opens the same choices again. We store the choice on this device for about 12 months, with the time you made it and a random id. If this notice changes, we ask again. We do not send that choice to a server.

Necessary. Always on. The cookie is named cc_cookie. It lasts about 12 months. It remembers the choice above. It is a first-party cookie.

Analytics. Off until you opt in. If you do, we load Google Analytics 4. It records page views, whether you start or finish the check, waitlist clicks, and a short script-error note with the numbers removed, plus the script file and line. It does not receive the amounts you entered, what you typed, or a page address that includes a query string. Its cookies are _ga and _ga_…, and each lasts about 2 years.

Marketing. Off until you opt in. No marketing tags run today. The switch is wired so a later Google Ads tag stays off until you allow it. Turning it on does not set an ads cookie yet.

We keep a waitlist email for 12 months, then delete it. Anyone can ask for deletion sooner by emailing claimback.team@gmail.com. Say which address you used. Formspree is the processor that holds the form entries.

Revenue pages used

Figures were checked against these pages on 15 October 2026. Remote working uses 30% of electricity, heating and broadband from 2022, shared by the days worked from home. For 2020 and 2021, electricity and heating used 10% and broadband still used 30%. College-fee relief disregards €3,000 if any course is full-time, otherwise €1,500. Rent for a child’s college accommodation, including digs, and rent while working away use the same rent credit as rent for your own home. The qualifying-conditions page sets out the under-23 rule, the ban on food in digs, and the rule that you cannot be related to the landlord.
